2018 Department Chair Boot Camp
August 22, 2018 - August 24, 2018
This is a new, three-day seminar designed and intended for new academic department chairs and academic center directors. As part of the university’s continuing efforts to better support and prepare chairs and directors, the seminar provides a hands-on primer on how to lead a department or academic center.
Along with information on what they will need to prepare to do up front, such as how to adjust to the role’s rhythms, and how to work effectively with staff, the seminar will also include sessions on budgets, fundraising and governance, among other topics.
An event notification and invitation has been sent to eligible department chairs and center directors.
