In partnership with the Secretary of the Academic Staff Office and the Office of the Secretary of the Faculty, the vice provost for faculty and staff supports a variety of professional development programming for faculty and staff, including specific “chat series” designed for academic staff and assistant professors. All series run during the academic year.
Academic Staff Chats
Academic Staff Chats are frank, open discussions among a small group of academic staff members on a particular topic. Some topics may include a speaker or panel prior to ample discussion time. Four to six sessions are typically hosted throughout the academic year. All sessions free and include lunch.
These chats are co-sponsored by the vice provost for faculty and staff, the Academic Staff Executive Committee and the Office of the Secretary of the Academic Staff. View all upcoming Academic Staff Chats.
Assistant Professor Chats & Mid-Career Faculty Chats
There are typically four Assistant Professor Chats and four Mid-Career Faculty Chats per academic year. Topics typically include mentoring, leadership, climate and inclusion, and advancement. All sessions are free and include lunch.
These chats are co-sponsored by the Office of the Secretary of the Faculty and the vice provost for faculty and staff.
